Japanese native horses had not worn horse shoes, so modern Noma horses also don’t. People say that they have very strong hooves.
To our surprise, Thoroughbred horses which participated in Kikuma Festival (Otomouma no Hashirikomi) also had no horse shoes in accordance with Japanese tradition.
